JoAnne Marie (Hamilton) Connor

JoAnne passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday morning June 13, 2018 at the Heartland at ProMedica Flower Hospital Campus. JoAnne was born in Toledo, April 14, 1929 to Richard and Lillian (Deubler) Watson. She is preceded in death by first husband, Harold K. Hamilton, and her second, loving husband, Robert E. Connor and her only sister, Joyce Rager; grandparents Edward (Lois) Watson, George (Molly) Deubler; parents, Lillian (William) Klockowski and Richard (Gladys) Watson, in-laws, Harry and Rachel Hamilton, daughter, Suzanne Marie Hamilton, son, William (Pookie) Hamilton, stepson, Robin Scott Connor, stepbrothers, Robert (Ruth) Klockowski and John (Barb) Klockowski, and nephew, Rob Ray Klockowski. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Steve and Pat Hamilton; granddaughters Katheryn Louise (Steven) Munger and Rebecca "Becca" Suzanne Hamilton (husband soon-to-be Shawn Small); great granddaughter, Claire Munger, brother-in-law Dick Rager of Fairfield, OH; nephews, Richard (Donna) Rager and David (Rosa) Klockowski; loving in-laws, Pat Hamilton, Kenneth Bucher, and Norman (Sharon) Hamilton, and seven godchildren.

JoAnne attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Grade School and the Harriet Whitney Vocational High School, graduating in 1947. She belonged to the Alpha Phi Mu Alumni organization and started working while in high school at the Rupp and Bowman Co. She worked for the Dean and Barry Paint Co. with great family friend William Dombrowski for 23 years and later at Wooley's Diner in West Toledo for eight years prior to retiring to Florida with Bob Connor from 1991 to 1999. She was a lifetime Auxiliary Member of VFW Post #2898.

JoAnne's family would like to recognize the friendship and help given to her by longtime family friend, Joanne Mierzwiak and would also like to express their appreciation for the excellent, attentive care given to her these last few months by the entire staff of Heartland at Promedica.

Visitation for friends and family will be held this Friday June 15, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Urbanski Funeral Home, A Life Celebration Home, 5055 Secor Road, Toledo, OH (419) 475-5055. The Reverend Bradford Scott of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will be officiating at the memorial service Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Urbanski Funeral Home, with Interment following in Calvary Cemetery.

JoAnne has asked that any remembrances be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Laskey Road, Toledo, or the Filling Memorial Home of Mercy, N160 State Route 108, Napoleon, OH 43545, in memory of her Billy (Pookie) Hamilton.
