John A.

John A. Mann, 75, of Toledo passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Thursday, December 6, 2012, after courageously fighting brain cancer. John was born in Toledo on January 27, 1937, to Andrew and Helen (Hart) Mann who preceded him in death. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. John worked at Interstate Motor Freight System for 27 years. He also worked for Lake Erie Medical Supply and retired from Whiteford Golf Course.

John was a member of Teamster's Local 20. He was a great golfer who loved to play. He also spent many hours woodworking, building everything for his family and friends. He especially enjoyed going gambling and "chinging".

John is survived by his dedicated wife of 35 years, Joyce (Long, Hehl) Mann; daughters, Kathy (David) Morris and Shelly (Gary) Deater; sisters, Jo (Don) Schuller, Jean (Bob) Watson and Jane (Ted) Nadolny; step-children, Wes (Sherry) Hehl, Kim (Danny) Robarge, and Patti (David Fellows) Hehl. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Cassie (Dave) Sharp, Matthew, Timmy and Samantha; step-grandchildren, Courtney, Haylee, Kaylee and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Davey, his beloved pets, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be sadly missed by all!

Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., on Sunday, December 9, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be a private funeral service on Monday with interment to follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
