Leonard R.

Leonard R. Hillebrand, 93, of Toledo, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Darlington Care Center. He was born June 27, 1919, in Toledo and was the son of William and Mary (Woerhle) Hillebrand. Leonard was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School. He was a decorated Veteran of WW II, serving in the Army Air Corp as a sergeant 2nd Air Division Association, 8th Air Force.

Leonard's career included working at Remington-Rand, in the service department for several years after WWII and then at Hillebrand Electronics as a professional salesman for the remainder of his career. He enjoyed bowling, golf and traveling to Cancun, Mexico. Leonard was a member of the Toledo Lions Club, where he served as president from 1979-80, a member of the NRA, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Clara J. "CJ" Hillebrand; daughters, Susan (Cecil) McIntire and Catherine (James) Meyer; grandchildren, Katelynn Meyer and Cameron Meyer. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Hillebrand and Lucielle Freppel and his brother, William A. Hillebrand.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date. Contributions in memory of Leonard may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Road, Perrysburg, OH, 43551. Arrangements entrusted to the Walker Funeral Home, (419) 841-2422.
