Lisa TOLAR Obituary

TOLAR Lisa (Gonzales) (Miller) Born at St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo, Lisa Marie, 48, went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2010 in Bradenton, Florida, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Lisa is survived by her mother, Joyce Peio, of Maumee and Robert Miller of Waterville. A 1979 graduate of Maumee High School, Lisa went to work as a teller at First National Bank in Maumee and later in Toledo. Lisa was an avid Red Wings fan and followed them throughout her adult life. She found time to work with crafts, always trying something different. However, it was children and animals that remained her first love. She fostered both, with motherly care and affection. In 1997, she moved to Bradenton, Florida, with her children; Adam and Ashley Gonzales. Lisa was schooled and later employed at Manatee Glen Memorial Hospital as a phlebotomist (drawing blood). She also worked as a pharmaceutical assistant. Loved by everyone she met, Lisa never complained about her illness and refused to give up until her final days. It was then she was at peace with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Pearl Ritenour and Leon and Fern Miller; also, stepfather, Kenneth Peio. Besides her parents, Lisa will be missed by her devoted and loving husband, Tom Tolar; her children, Ashley ("B.J)" Mitchell, Felicia and Adam Gonzales; sisters, Robin (Dave) Cole, Shelley (Dan McGuire, Jr.) Morey and Lori Marko; nephews, Jordan, Chris, Cory, David, Aaron, and niece, Brooke. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Living Hope Church, 4621 Glendale Ave., Toledo, Ohio. All of Lisa's and the family's friends are invited to pay their respects at that time. Any donations may be given to Hospice, Breast Cancer or Living Hope Church. www.walterfuneralhome.com

I hung out with Lisa in the eighth and ninth grade a bit, so sad to hear she died at such a young age. I remember her as fun with a sense of adventure. Heartfelt sympathy goes out to her family and friends.....Kelley Fellman Knitz

What a beautiful picture of Lisa. She always had that beautiful smile, as well as a great sense of humor. Just thinking back to all of our "banking days", and taking the kids out to eat on Friday nights, always puts a smile on my face. I will miss my dear friend.

Our prayers remain with the entire family and all those who knew and loved Lisa.
