Lucas M. "Luke"
Lucas M. "Luke" Hassen, 24, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013. He was born May 13, 1988, in Sylvania to Robert and Judith (Marchal) Hassen. Luke was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and also a graduate of the University of Toledo with a degree in Finance. Luke was employed with Perf-A-Lawn in Toledo, fulfilling his love for the outdoors, was an avid sports fan, and loved U of M, music, golf and writing beautiful poetry. His smile was infectious and could lighten any mood; his very presence kept people on their toes as they watched for his next quick-witted joke. Despite his boisterous humor, we all knew him to be a most thoughtful, caring, and giving man.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jerry Marchal and a cousin, Eric Misejka. Luke is survived by his loving parents, Bob (Judy) Hassen; brothers, Matthew (Stephany), Zach (Courtney) Hassen; the love of his life, Lindsey Mick; grandparents, Harold (Lillian) Hassen, Dorothy Marchal, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at the Dowling Funeral Home, 7509 New West Road at King Road, (King Rd. between Central and Sylvania Ave.) Toledo, 419-841-8111. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Assumption, followed by interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Holy Trinity Athletic Association or the donor's choice.
"We love you brother, you were our best friend. Your everyday presence in all our lives was profound. Until we meet again you will be deeply missed and for all time, know how tremendously you are loved."
