Lucille Allan Obituary

Lucille Allan died quietly April 2, 2014, at the Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek. Born on April 15, 1921, to Thomas Connolly and Elsie Pohlman, Lucille was a longtime

resident of Toledo and Dr. McAuley Court in Perrysburg. She attended Central Catholic High School and, after raising her family, was employed by St. Vincent's Hospital, retiring in 1980.

Lucille simply enjoyed loving her ten children and her many grandchildren. Her outside interests included extensive domestic travel, The Zoar Lutheran Church Senior Group and The St. Rose Alter Society. She loved bingo, card games and an active social life with her Dr. McAuley Court friends. Lucille was a "Party Girl" and generally the first to arrive and the last to leave any party. Her kindness and warm smile will be missed by everyone who knew her, especially her CHRP friends at St. Rose. Lucille's gift of sharing her life lives on in many.

Lucille was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Allan; great-grandson, Damian Bakhsh; sister, Jean Bensley; brothers, Gerald and Thomas Connolly; brother-in-law, Don Bensley and sisters-in-law, Hilda, Rose and Joanne Connolly. She is survived by her loving brother, Bob Connolly; children, Michael (Vicki Berg) of Long Beach, CA, Timothy (Joanne), Mary Poppe (Donald), Barbara Haydock (Thomas), Daniel (Kay) of Thomaston, ME, Kenneth (Denise), Margaret Gregor, Russell (Vicky), Joseph (Janet Womack); 29 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Respects may be paid to the family on Sunday, April 6, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Hoeflinger Funeral Home located at 3500 Navarre Ave. in Oregon, Ohio. Interment will be on Monday at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Toledo following a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Rose Catholic Church, Perrysburg at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose Catholic Church and/or Heartbeat of Toledo in Mrs. Allan's name. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Heartland of Perrysburg and the Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek.
