On Saturday, May 10, 2014, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Margaret Bonnie Jean Cochran Dewberry Barber, went from labor to reward. Margaret was born on April 17, 1931, in Meridian, Oklahoma to the late Jessie Conley Cochran and the late Letha Mae Hunter Cochran. She had one brother, Leslie Heywood Cochran.

She grew up in Guthrie, Oklahoma and graduated from Faver High School. She attended and graduated from the Nila Jewell Beauty School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She also obtained a Cosmetology License from the State of Ohio. Over the course of her life, Margaret was employed at the Oklahoma Furniture Factory in Guthrie, Oklahoma, performed domestic work in private homes, was a breakfast aide and teacher's aide at Glenwood Elementary School (Toledo, Ohio), and for over 20 years worked in the health care field.

Margaret loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age at the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Guthrie, Oklahoma. She moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1956, and joined the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. I.J. Johnson in 1962. She was also a member of the Victoria Star 23 Chapter O.E.S. and loved to cook, travel and spend time with her family and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Cochran and Letha Mae Cochran Foreman; her step-father, Waymon Foreman; her former spouses, Samuel Oliver Dewberry and Arthur "Joe" Barber; her son, Manlin Conley Dewberry; her daughter-in-law, Lena Dewberry and her grandson, Randall "Nute" Dewberry Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Leslie H. Cochran of Detroit, Michigan; her children, Vertie L. (Tyrone) Nealy of Pomona, California, Charlon K. Dewberry of Bowling Green, Ohio, Dorothy (Larry) Fulce, Annie Ruth Barber, Leandeen (Gail) Barber, Leslie (Loretta) Gant, Linda Faye Barber, Willie Barber, Gail (Ernest) Moore, Archie Dewberry, all of Toledo, Ohio, Landis (Linda) Gant of Pasadena, California, Randall (Lena, deceased) Dewberry of Duarte, California, Sheila Dewberry of Broadview, Illinois, Cheryl Barber of Akron, Ohio and Valerie (Chester) Marshall of Columbus, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Riley Dewberry, of Toledo, Ohio; sister-in-law, Bernice Williams of Detroit, Michigan; niece, Linda (Oliver) Whitted of Farmington, Michigan; nephew, Warren Hargo Jr., of Detroit, Michigan; thirty-seven (37) grandchildren; sixty-seven (67) great-grandchildren, and five (5) great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends too numerous to name, family, church members and loved ones.

The family hour and visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2014, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Dale-Riggs Funeral Home, 572 Nebraska Ave, Toledo, Ohio. Wake services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 17th, 2014 followed by Funeral Services at 11 a.m. at the Indiana Ave Baptist Church, 640 Indiana Ave, Toledo, Ohio. Rev. I. J. Johnson, Officiating Minister. The internment will be at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
