Mary Ann Valencic, 82, of the Point and Shoreland Community, passed away Tuesday morning, March 12, 2013, in her home. She was born September 17, 1930, in Toledo to the late Benjamin and Elsie (Gordon) Fosty. She married Frank J. Valencic and he survives her. Mary Ann was a secretary for Sheller Globe for 13 years and a member of the Local 84 "H.E.R.E." for 11 years. She also was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, and its' church council. She was the first president of the P.T.A. at Ottawa River School. Mary Ann's joy in life was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed both her work and church.

In addition to her husband, surviving are her daughters, Barbara Ann (Glenn) Cunningham and Nancy (Charles "Matt") Martin; grandchildren, Matthew (Tricia), Amy (Matt), Mary, Julie (Dan), Ben (Becky), Paul, and Mark; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Virginia Tauberg and Edna Fosty, and niece, Sharon Oneail.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013, from 2-7 p.m. at the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home. 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, Ohio 43611 (419.726.1583). Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday at Messiah Lutheran Church, Pastor Cindy Getzinger, officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Mary Ann's name may be sent to the church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
