Monica V. Carter, also

lovingly known as Candy, was born August 6, 1962, in Toledo, Ohio, to parents Brenda and John Grant. Monica was a loving, caring person. She loved everyone who was around her and always kept a smile on her face, no matter what she was going through. She attended Glenwood Elementary and Scott High School. She was employed at the Quality Bar as a Bartender for many years. Many family and friends knew her as "Candy;" but her special nickname from her sister was "Ivana Trump."

Monica is preceded in death by her mother and father, Brenda and John Grant, and special friends, Ulysses

Howard and Jerome Turner. She leaves to cherish her sister, Leslie Grant; daughter, Yolanda Carter; grandson, Rashad Craig; special niece, Ahjanea Candice Williams; special cousin, Lynette

Williams; special friends, Farrell White, Alice King-Nash, Bonnie, and a large host of family and friends. Candy will be missed dearly. Family hour 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by memorial services from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. held at the House of Day Funeral Home. Repasts will be held at the Elks on 636 Junction at 2 p.m.
