In the twinkling of an eye on November 1, 2013, at 2:08 p.m., Jesus lifted Philip Edwards Silsbee, born July 8, 1983, from his earthly home to a Heavenly Mansion. The Detroit Lions, Tigers and Red Wings will never be the same. His favorite activity was fishing and he recently revealed a deep interest in farming. Philip served his country in the capacity of a Navy Corpsman. In this, he was given to the aide of many suffering children while serving in the Iraq War. For such dedication and application of his trained expertise he earned the title "Doc". At the time of his release from the U.S. Navy he was awarded special citations for his diligence in the care of children. Philip has overcome his battle for peace.
Visitation is to be held Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. at The Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave. Funeral worship service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4560 Glendale Ave., Toledo.
