Philip Silsbee Obituary

Philip Edwards

In the twinkling of an eye on November 1, 2013, at 2:08 p.m., Jesus lifted Philip Edwards Silsbee, born July 8, 1983, from his earthly home to a Heavenly Mansion. The Detroit Lions, Tigers and Red Wings will never be the same. His favorite activity was fishing and he recently revealed a deep interest in farming. Philip served his country in the capacity of a Navy Corpsman. In this, he was given to the aide of many suffering children while serving in the Iraq War. For such dedication and application of his trained expertise he earned the title "Doc". At the time of his release from the U.S. Navy he was awarded special citations for his diligence in the care of children. Philip has overcome his battle for peace.

Visitation is to be held Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. at The Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave. Funeral worship service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4560 Glendale Ave., Toledo. Shortly after the worship service the family and all who wish may attend the interment at Fort Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg, directly from Trinity Lutheran.

Philip is survived by his mother, father, two sisters, a brother and a paternal aunt. The family wish all those in grief over the loss of a baptized Christian to donate in the support of Veterans Serving Veterans your choice of a monetary gift to AMERI Corps, a funded non-profit organization:

in the name of Cross of Christ for Philip Edwards Silsbee the Navy Corpsman or to the church. The family wishes all condolences in the spirit of: "Ponder Anew What the Almighty Can Do." God Bless You All.
