Phillip F. Kotecki, age 73, of Perrysburg, formerly of Dexter St., passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Genesis Healthcare Perrysburg Center. He was born September 17, 1939, in Toledo, OH to Felix and Cecilia (Zielinski) Kotecki. Phillip worked on the assembly line at the Dana Corporation for 30 years followed by 12 years at Finishmaster as a delivery driver. A Veteran of the US Army, he was a member of the CWV Jude Thaddeus Post 1675, VFW Buddy Frankowski Post 5530 and American Legion Post 0888. Phillip was also a member of the Commodore Club. An avid Detroit Tigers fan, he enjoyed coaching his son's softball and baseball teams. Phillip loved polka dancing with his wife, Judith at the Rustic Lodge.
Phillip is survived his daughter, Dawn Curtis; son, Sean (Tina) Kotecki; grandchildren, Sam Curtis, Brendan Curtis, Michael Kotecki, Phillip Kotecki and Kayle Chesnutte; sister, Phyllis (Ron) Zydorczyk, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Stanley and Irene Rosinski, and beloved wife, Judith Ann Kotecki.
Family and friends may visit Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. CWV Post 1675 members will lead a Service Monday at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. Hedwig Church at 10:00 a.m. The Lucas County Burial Corp will conclude with Military Honors in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
