Phyllis Nash, age 90, of Adrian, died Monday, December 10, 2012, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. Phyllis was born December 25, 1921, in Adrian, MI to William Isaac and Lina (Hendrickson Taylor) Kniffen. She went to school in Sylvania and Metamora, OH graduated from Adrian high School in 1941 and later on attended Siena Heights College. Phyllis was married in Adrian, August 29, 1942, to Carl A. Lofberg, Jr., he died October 12, 1977. She married Frank Kniffen December 11, 1980, in Adrian, he died November 16, 1998. She married Gordon Nash in Adrian July 11, 1999 and he died July 22, 2010.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William (Carol Lofberg) Dunn of Williamston and Mrs. James (Joyce Lofberg) Nickless of Adrian; a stepdaughter, Mrs. William (Donna Nash) Podobinski of Pittsburgh, PA; four granddaughters, Deborah (Dunn) Lee of Chelsea, Stephanie Dunn of Howell, Mrs. Jon (Mary Nickless) Breier of Holt, and Mrs. Jeff (Christina Nickless) Lounsbury of Paw Paw. Eight great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; two brothers, Elzie Kniffen and Lee Kniffen, and seven sisters, Mrs. Walter (Edith Kniffen) Smith, Mrs. Albert (Leta Kniffen) Lusty of Jackson, Mrs. Jesse (Hazel Kniffen) Lockwood of Petersburg, Mrs. Earl (Theresa Kniffen) Underhill of Jackson, Mrs. James (Doris Kniffen) Clair of Battle Creek, Mrs. Arlie (Hazel Taylor) Nye of Berkey, OH, and Mrs. Stanley (Jean Taylor) Hoenes of Adrian.

Phyllis worked at Hurd Lock Manufacturing, Al's Place Market, Adrian Training School, J.C. Penney Co., and Maurice Spear. She retired from ATS as a Youth Specialist. She helped organize the Lenawee Co. State Employees Retirement Association and served as president. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Adrian and the Eastern Star of Casa Grande, AZ. She was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary of Adrian and attended the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Adrian.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian with Reverend Linda Farley officiating. Burial will be in Wolfinger Cemetery in Richfield Township. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. You may send condolences to the family at
