Rita (Hejnicki) Beilhart Obituary
Rita (Hejnicki) Beilhart

Rita Beilhart, died on June 9, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice. She was born September 23, 1933 to Walter and Helen (nee Malecki) Hejnicki. She was the youngest of seven children and even shared a birthday with her sister, Adeline who was five years older.

She grew up in the Kuschwantz area of Toledo and attended St. Anthony Catholic Church grade school. She met monthly with many classmates for lunch for several years. Rita loved to dance and taught many of the neighborhood boys. She even danced on a television show with her brother, Ralph.

Rita was a resident of Point Place for over 60 years and was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church until illness prohibited her from doing so. She was the first female lector at the church and a lay distributor. She implemented a prayer line which is still active today. She volunteered and was involved in numerous other committees over the years.

Rita loved her family and friends and was always willing to help out with whatever was needed. She babysat for many months for different family members and friends if there was a need. She even gave the coat off of her back to a friend who moved away to make sure she was warm when driving cross country.

In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling the country with her family. After her children were adults, she continued to travel with her husband, Bob.

Rita was married to her husband, Bob for over 64 years, had four children and four grandchildren of whom she was very proud and loved dearly.

Preceded in death are her parents; sisters, Sylvia and Adeline; brothers, Alvin, Ralph and Walter; and daughter, Jannel. She is survived by her husband, Bob; sons, Eric (Kathy) of Jupiter, FL, and Kurt of Santee, CA; and daughter, Anita. Also, surviving is sister, Dorothy Roenick of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She will be dearly missed for her warm smile and her loving nature.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 14 from 2-8 p.m. at David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, Ohio, with a scripture service at 5:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will Friday, June 15 at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church preceded by visitation in the church from 10-11 a.m. Lunch will follow after mass in the Fr. Etzel Community Center.

Many thanks to Promedica Hospice (Jo, Kathy and Vonetta) and others who assisted Rita, including Jessica and friends, Pat Woods and Laura Juhasz. Memorial donations may be given to St. John the Baptist Church, 5153 N. Summit St., Toledo, Ohio 43611.
