Ronald J. Pinkelman, 76, of Berkey, OH, passed away with his family at his side, Friday evening at the Ebeid Hospice Residence.
Ron was retired from General Motors in 1999, and was a member of U.A.W. Local 14 and Sheet Metal workers Local 33. Ron was proud to have served with the Berkey Volunteer Fire Department for more than 27 years. He enjoyed farming and operating the family greenhouse for 20 years.
Ron is survived by his daughters, Becky Clawson and Pamela Brower; sons, Michael (Barb), Gregg (Lynn), and Todd (Ginny) Pinkelman; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda (Jim) Farley, and brother, Myron (Nancy) Pinkelman. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley of 51 years, who he offered care for more than 19 years before her death; sons-in-law, Denny Clawson and Bob Brower, and grandson, Drew Brower.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Tuesday, May 14, 2013, from 4:00-9:00 p.m., where the Berkey Fire Department will conduct a service at 7:00 p.m., and Prayer Services will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be conducted at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania, Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Ron will be laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park.
