Thomas Lee Marckel, 79, of Walbridge Ohio, died Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Swanton Health Care Center after his battle with Alzheimer for the past two years.
Born in Toledo Ohio, on August 10, 1933, to Charles and Clementine Marckel. Tom was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed dancing. Tom worked for over 30 years at Walt's Autoglass and was in business with his son at F&S Glass Enterprise. He also worked part-time with the longshoremen at the Port of Toledo, and along the Maumee River at various grain elevators. Tom was also a member of the Eagles in Rossford Ohio. Tom enjoyed helping others, and was a volunteer at Mainstreet United Brethren Church in the community of Walbridge Ohio.
Tom is survived by his children, Tim (Kathy) of Charleston, SC, Charles (Marcie) of Allen, MI, Ed (Tammy) of Holland, OH, and Paula Neher of Davie, FL; 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by four brothers, Justin, Wayne, Gene, and Steve, and by five sisters, Geraldine Uhlich, Violet Lagger, Joan Web, Linda Beamer, and Ann Mickles. Tom is survived by three brothers, Rodger (Joan) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Larry (Betty), and John (Carol) both of Toledo Ohio.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., where the family will again receive friends Thursday, January 3, 2013, starting at 9:00 a.m. and funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
