“God I'm going to miss Dr. Veronica Gold. She spent her life working for and helping humanity. The world is less without her.” Today, I received this email message from my Pickens Plan colleague, Richard Barnard, and I agree completely.

Veronica Gold was the Pickens Plan Leader for the State of Ohio since 2008, when T Boone Pickens called together this diverse community for education and advocacy to regain energy independence for the USA. Serving with her as the Ohio 17th District Leader, I had the privilege of joining her in numerous conference calls, strategy sessions, radio interviews, and online discussions. Veronica travelled to the Steubenville region to support our 6th District Leader Jim Lewis and Green Energy Initiatives, toward building the energy industry in that hard-hit rustbelt community.

Veronica Gold understood the technical details of energy and the economy, as well as the politics of energy policy. She built a great rapport with my Congressman Tim Ryan. Late last year we met in Painesville, Ohio with Congressman Steven LaTourette's Chief of Staff Dino DiSanto. After that meeting, Veronica, her husband Paul, and I shared lunch and conversation about the rebuilding of the Youngstown area economy with the shale gas industry. Veronica said that she was looking forward to seeing this progress in person, after dealing with the relapse of her cancer. That meeting is not to be, and Veronica will be missed as her mission continues.

The Jacobson - Chamberlin link goes back many, many years but all those special times and memories with both families are priceless. We will remember Veronica, Paul and family in our prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of great loss. Bernice called and told us about Veronica's death. We are distant relatives and Bernice talked of her often. I know it is a great void in Bernice's life right now. May God give you all the strength to face each day and may He comfort you always. Shirley and Russell Dietz.

Paul, Katie and Susan - I just heard this morning and want you to know how much I admired your wife/mother. A good friend, a strong supporter in causes she believed in and mostly a caring loving wife and mother. My prayers and thoughts are for all of you. I am sorry that I could not be there with and for you on Saturday.
