BARRET David R. David R. Barret, age 82, of Toledo, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 11, 2011, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born October 9, 1928, in Toledo, Ohio, to Elmer and Vera (Fitzpatrick) Barret and on December 28, 1968 he married Michaelene M. Wallace. A United States Army Veteran, David proudly served his country during World War II as part of the 1st Calvary Division during the allied occupation of Japan as an Infantry Rifleman. For over 40 years, David was employed by Libbey Owens Ford, both as a Foreman at the Toledo Plant and a Mold Maker at the Rossford Plant, retiring in 1992. In his youth, he was an avid aviator spending many flight time hours with family and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing and camping. David will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Michaelene M. Barret; children, David J. Barret, Paula C. D. (Jeffery) Barret-Corson and Dennis J. Barret; grandchildren, Deborah Corson, Devin Corson, David Corson and Jamie Young as well as four great grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 4-8 P.M. and Sunday from 2-9 P.M. where the Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7 P.M. in Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879). Prayers will offered in the funeral home on Monday, January 17, 2011, beginning at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in Our lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. James E. Brown, officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy in David's name may do so to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 800 S.
