Richard Harry Currier, age 81, of Lima, Ohio passed away on June 15, 2013. Richard was born on December 9, 1931, to Leora and Theodore Currier in Toledo. He was employed over 35 years at Phillips/Emro Propane Gas Co. in Northwood, OH from where he retired. Richard was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was Past Commander at Adams Twp. American Legion Post #55 and was Chef de Gare at Voiture #141 40 and 8, both of which he was very active in.
Richard married Dorothy Roberts on November 27, 1951, and she passed away on December 27, 1986. He then married Arlene Dershem McClain on February 22, 1992, and she survives him. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Theodore, and sister, Marlene Hernandez. Besides his wife, Arlene; Richard is survived by his sons, Douglas (Cathy) of Toledo, Iowa and Brian of England; daughters, Pam Allen of Shreve, OH, Rebecca (Gary) Sharlow of Deleware, OH, Brenda (Pat) Johnson of Montour, Iowa and Kim Currier of Toledo, OH; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 6 step children; 20 stepgrandchildren and 24 step great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where Adams Twp. AL Post #553 will hold services at 7:00 p.m. immediately followed by Voiture #141 40/8 services. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the mortuary followed by interment with Military Honors at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Tributes in Richard's memory may be made to the family.
