CHILCOTE

Bonita

Bonita "Bonnie" Chilcote, age 74, left this world to join her sisters on August 5, 2013. Bonnie was born June 9, 1939 in Toledo, OH to James and Grace Rahilly. Bonnie was always concerned about her family's and others' well-being, providing cards of encouragement, meals, or other means of support, regardless of what she was dealing with at the time. In addition to

being creative and wise, she was courageous in managing her major health issues (breast cancer- 1999, uterine cancer- 2010, and acute myeloid leukemia-2012) with nary a complaint. During this time, she shared her experiences with others facing cancer in an effort to help them address their concerns

regarding treatment and

potential side effects. Bonnie taught school for 34 years, the majority with Toledo Public Schools, and subsequently worked 10 years at the Dana Corporation. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, John; son, Brett (Kara) Cunningham; daughter, Ayn Mazzeo; and grandson, John Strobel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, 4210 W. Central Ave. Toledo, OH, (meet at the main entrance off of
