Theresa A. "Mema"
Theresa A. Kirchner "Mema," 82, of Toledo, OH passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014, with her family by her side at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Theresa was employed with the risk management division of the Kroger Company before retiring in 1992, after 10 years of service. She wore many hats, chauffer, baker, hair stylist, and counselor, but her most treasured memory will be as a mom and mema. Theresa could calm a crying baby like no other and was always there for her entire family, until the cruelness of Alzheimer's began to take her slowly from us. She loved music and played the accordion and piano, as well as singing in many choirs throughout the area; her favorite piece being "Handel's Messiah." Theresa enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas and Tennessee with Bud and her family. We all feel incredibly fortunate to have had her as long as we have. Her children/grandchildren absolutely meant the world to her. Our hearts are broken at her passing.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Raymond E. "Bud" Kirchner; daughters, Mary (Jim) Clapper, Dianne (Mike) Skotynsky, and Beth (Mark) Westcott; sons, Raymond and Robert Kirchner; 19 grandchildren, Ray Jr. (Sarah), James (Hannah), Aimee (Nate), Christopher (Rachel), Angela (Pete), Joseph (Tiffany), Michael (Jyl), Michael Jr., Jennifer (Tom), Matthew, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Jacob, Allison, Theresa, Katie, Sophia, Maggie and Olivia; 6 great-grandchildren, Ava and Lucas Snyder, Isabella, Zachary and Lillian Cromly, Justin Kirchner and baby Clapper on the way; sisters, Margaret Zuccarell and Florence Grandowicz, and brothers, Harold and John Byrd. Theresa was preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine, Rose and Mary Ellen and brothers, Ernest, James, and Gail.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, Ohio Friday, February 7, 2014, 4:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be conducted at the St. Clement Catholic Church, Saturday, February 8, 2014, 11:00 a.m. Theresa will be laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park.
