Ralph S. Bruner, age 79, of Toledo passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014, in The Toledo Hospital. He was born May 20, 1934, in Metamora, Ohio to Dwight and Letta (Myers) Bruner. Ralph was a graduate of Pettisville High School and retired from AP Parts. He was devoted to missionary work and campers associations for the United Methodist Church in which he was awarded for his unselfish devotion, untiring efforts, and outstanding service and dedication. Ralph was extremely active in church activities and loved to travel, visiting all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and including several cruises. His greatest enjoyment however, was using the skills he possessed to help others anyplace, anytime, and anywhere.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Gloria Shook and brother, Howard Bruner; he is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Michael (Debora) and Jeffery (Cynthia) Bruner; grandchildren, Stephanie, Kyle, Jennifer, Carolyn, Jake, Josh and Jarett; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence and Harry Bruner; sister, Doris Ruhlin, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Sunday and Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey). Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Andrew United Methodist 3620 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, Ohio where visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
