Raymond C. Krall, age 93, of West Toledo, passed away February 13, 2014, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Raymond was born December 15, 1920 in Toledo, OH to Anthony and Frances (Tomas) Krall and was #7 of 13 children. He graduated from Libbey High School in 1939 and Served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII, as an aerial gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress. He was stationed in England with the 91st Bomb Group (home of the famous Memphis Belle). Ray had 35 missions over the European Continent and was the recipient of the Air Medal with 5 Oakleaf Clusters.

After the war, Ray married Rita Rutherford on January 20, 1951, in Good Shepard Church in Toledo, Ohio. A 1953 graduate of the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy, Ray worked in several retail pharmacies, the last one being Walters Pharmacy. He retired in 1987. Ray was a former member of the Toledo Academy of Pharmacy and is a member of the Toledo Drug Club, the Toledo Elks Lodge No 53 and the Catholic War Veterans, Logsdon-Walla Post #639.

Ray enjoyed bowling, fishing, cooking, baking and canning. It was not until age 60, that he bowled his only "700" game, it was a 753. In his early 50s, Ray started cooking and baking. Everything Ray made was from scratch including his cakes, pies and dinners. He often shared his baking talent with the families of Christ the King by baking cakes and cookies for their Martha's Meals Luncheon Program. At Easter and Christmas he always made Polish Coffee Cakes which he loved to share with others. He was especially proud of baking all the Coffee Cakes for his niece's and great-niece's weddings.

Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years, Rita; his brother, Jerry (Helen) Krall; his sisters, Bernadine Smigielski, Patricia (Carl) Kowalski and Shirley (Ronald) Sabin of Littleton, Colorado; sister-in- law, Patricia Krall.
