Caroline Marie Sybert, 88, of Maumee, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 19, 2014, in St. Luke's Hospital. She was born on March 26, 1925, in Toledo, Ohio to Kenneth and Julia (Pollauf) Lehmann. She was a graduate of Waite High School. She began volunteering at St. Luke's Hospital when it was on Robinwood and was an active member of the Auxiliary after it moved to Maumee. She was one of the original volunteers for Channel 13 Call for Action. Caroline was a longtime supporter of the Toledo Jazz Society and the Toledo Museum of Art. She and her best friend, Dorothy Zonner, were regulars at Rusty's Jazz Café.
Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in 1986. Surviving is her son, Robert R. Sybert; daughter, Susan (Christopher) Barry; grandsons, Robert Sybert II, Corwin (Sandi) Carr, Benjamin (Kathleen Karoly) Carr; great-grandchildren, Tess Carr, Corwin Carr, Dashiell Carr.
Private services were held at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home this past Friday, with burial in Riverside Cemetery Maumee, Ohio.
