Clarence S. Szozda, passed away on February 25, 2014, at the age of 69. He was born June 7, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio to Betty (Boyd) and Burt Szozda. Clarence attended St. Hyacinth School, graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1962, and The University of Toledo in 1967, with a BBA. He was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. He served 4 years active duty in the U.S. Air Force, one year in Vietnam in the 644 Radar Sq. and was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1971. He also attended Officers Training School.
Clarence worked at Sears and Doehler Jarvis before starting his career at Key Bank, where he was an Enrolled Agent in the Trust Tax Department, retiring in 2004.
He is survived by sons, Tom (Kris) of Valejo, California, Tim of Denver, Colorado and daughter, Amy of Oregon, Ohio; significant other, Jan Schimming; brothers, Tom (Kathy), Toledo, Sam (Ronnie), Waterville; sisters, Laura (Brad) Major of Graytown, Ohio, Tina (Rick) Zdrada of Temperance, MI. and many nieces and nephews. larence was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Horton Conklin; sister, Claranell Gay; infant brother, Billy and infant son.
Family and friends may visit from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014, in the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elliston Cemetery.
