James Waldo Brown, 83, died March 6, 2014, at his home in Waterville, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 7, 1930, to Clarence Owen and Letta Lula (Studer) Brown in Bailey, OH. On June 6, 1956, he married Bernice Veres in Swanton, OH.
Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954, and was a Korean War Veteran. James was a HVAC, Refrigeration Mechanic and Pipefitter for over 40 years, retiring in 1996. In May 1956, he joined the Wakeman Masonic Lodge and later joined the Rubicon Masonic Lodge when it merged with Wakeman. He was also a member of Local 50 Plumbers and Pipefitters. James' retirement years were spent making woodcrafts and beautiful furniture.
James is survived by his wife, Bernice; his daughters, Brenda (Mike) Shrader of Columbus, Theresa (Tom) McDonald of Toledo and Jackie Durkin of Sylvania; 10 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, and 2 great- great-grandchildren, and his sisters, Norma Leismer of Millford, IN, Joyce Brown of Pelosky, MI and Arlene Drier of Pensacola, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
