Mary Ann (Fortuna)

Mary Ann (Fortuna) Kovacs, 83, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 9, 1930 to

Michael and Margaret (Zemko) Fortuna. During her life time, Mary Ann was a State of Ohio Deputy Registrar; also employed at First National Bank, and then as a civil bookkeeper for the Lucas County Clerk of Courts, retiring in 1996. Mary Ann was a life-long member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, where she was active in the Mother's Club, Rosary Altar Society, and cooked at the various church dinners. Mary Ann enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas, Florida, Europe and many other places with her family and friends. She looked forward to her weekly lunch dates with her children and grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are her sons, Frank, of Los Angeles, CA, Kenneth, Daniel (Barb), David and Michael (Debbie) Kovacs; she was the proud grandmother of

Lindsay, Kelsey, Kelly,

Matthew and Corey; also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her

husband, Frank "Fritz" in 2007; brothers, William, John and Michael Fortuna; sisters, Margaret Bertok and Olga Gyurko.

Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Sunday, from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014

at 1:00 p.m. at Epiphany of

the Lord Parish-St. Stephen's Church, 1880 Genesee Street, where the family will greet friends beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Epiphany of the Lord - St. Stephen's Church or to a .
