It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our sister and aunt, Alice I. Albert on March 28, 2014, at the age of 95 at Western Reserve Hospice of North East Ohio.
She was born on August 15, 1918, to Emiel and Irma Popelier. Alice was a resident of Toledo, Ohio for most of her life where she grew up in St. Agnes Parish and attended school there. Later in her life she spent winters in Fort Myers, Florida and 5 wonderful years at Oakleaf Village in Sylvania, Ohio. Four years ago, she moved to Avon Lake, Ohio to be near her sister, Dorothy Elliott and her niece, Nancy Kovacs.
She met her husband, William F. Albert while she was working at St. Vincent Hospital. Alice loved to be around people. She also loved her jewelry and sharing it with others.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents, and her sister, Alma Thomas. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Elliott; niece, Nancy Kovacs (Larry) and great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home (1163 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, 419-269-1111) on Monday, March 31st between the hours of 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 1st at St. Catherine's Parish with burial at Calvary Cemetery.
