Teodor J. "Stretch" Kwapich, age 85, of Toledo passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 10, 1928, in Toledo to John and Mary (Kasprzyk) Kwapich. He attended Libbey and Macomber High Schools. An army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Przybylski Post 642 American Legion. Ted was employed at Doehler-Jarvis for 34 years retiring as Plating Foreman. He then worked for the State Liquor Department as a clerk for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing. golf, bowling and refinishing furniture.
Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Steve and Florian Kwapich, he is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Beatrice; sons, Paul (Cindy) and Todd (Jeannette) Kwapich, and grandchildren, Justin, Dallas, Dylan and Emely Kwapich.
Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Monday from 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday after 9 a.m. in Christ the King Church where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
