William John Goeder, 87, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away April 1, 2014, in Riverside Methodist Hospital. Mr. Goeder was born on April 28, 1926, in Toledo, Ohio to Nicholas and Mabel (Overmeyer) Goeder. Mr. Goeder was a graduate of Macomber High School and served in the U.S. Army, during WWII. Mr. Goeder worked for Ohio Bell for many years, retiring as an Engineer. Mr. Goeder and his wife, Peggy, enjoyed traveling in their camper throughout the United States especially to Glacier National Park in Montana. They also enjoyed boating and were devoted to their German Shepherd dogs, with one surviving.
Mr. Goeder was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, in January of 2008 his sweetheart for all their married life; brother, Darwin Goeder; sister, Helen Sherman and his parents. Surviving is his sister-in-law, Helen Leota Goeder; nieces and nephews, Kathleen Hosler, Phyllis Campbell, Nick Goeder, Scott Goeder, Amy Goeder, Norma Sherman-Kelling, Larry Sherman, Denny Sherman along with many grand nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Bersticker Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Road on Saturday, April 5, 2014, after 10 a.m. where services will be held at 12 noon. Entombment will take place in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery Swan Lake Chapel. The family suggests memorials to the
