Lottie Irvine Obituary


Lottie Irvine passed away peacefully on April 6, 2014, surrounded by family members. Lottie was born July 19, 1924, in Toledo, OH to loving parents, Joseph and Anna Echler. She grew up in the Polish Village "Lagrinka" along with her three sisters, Helen, Francis, and Jane and her brother, Stanley. She

attended St. Hedwig's School and Woodward High School. After high school, she

attended Davis Business College and worked as an administrative assistant.

Lottie married Val Irvine following WWII and they had three children together.

She was passionate about her children and grandchildren's athletic activities and accomplishments. She was an avid supporter of St. Francis de Sales football and wrestling, St. John Jesuit basketball and UT football. Lottie spent countless hours in the kitchen preparing pre-game meals for her sons and other team members. Her commitment to sports and nutrition, led her to take up running, which she did well into her 70s. She also enjoyed outdoor activities especially summertime at Deep Lake and traveling throughout the U.S. with Val in the Winnebago. She was always the pillar of strength for the family in good times and bad.

Lottie is survived by her three children, Shirley (Denny) Amrhein, Tim Irvine and Russ (Saundra) Irvine. She is also survived by

six grandchildren, Valerie, Denny (Jenn), Ben, Chris, Tyler and Michael; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Landon and Nolan and dear friend and sister-in-law, Mary Echler.

Friends may visit from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue (between Secor and Douglas Roads), the where the rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday from the funeral home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Francis de sales High School Annual Fund or Getiva Hospice, 1745 Indian Wood Circle, Suite 200, Maumee, OH, 43537. The family would like to extend its deepest appreciation to the staff at Getiva Hospice, especially Jim, and Genesis Healthcare and Point Place Center.
