Lueva Bishop, 76, of Findlay, passed away on April 7, 2014. Lueva was the eldest of two children and was born to Leon and Jaunita (Whitling) Buckner on January 18, 1938, in Martinsville, Illinois.
Lueva is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wayne; sister, Brenda Silveus (Tony) of Flagstaff, Arizona; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy (Lori) Bishop of Findlay and Craig (Anne) Bishop of Waterville, Ohio. She has 5 grandchildren, Michael (Brooke) Bishop, Stephanie Schweickert (Jeff), Kylee, Eric and Joshua Bishop. Lueva recently experienced the joy of her first great-grandchild, Easton Bishop.
Lueva graduated from Findlay High School in 1956. She worked for the Ohio Oil Company (Marathon) as a secretary, before she and Wayne became the founding owners of Imperial Marathon in Findlay, where they have carried on business for the past 50 years. She was a fifty year member of Findlay's Eastern Star Chapter #23, where she and Wayne served as the Worthy Matron and Patron in 1970. She was also a member of Dendarah Court of the Lady Shrine.
Lueva was an artist and seamstress and she loved spending time with family. She and Wayne enjoyed boating on Lake Erie, camping, motorcycles, snowmobiling, classic cars, raising chinchillas and travel to warm and fun places.
A celebration of Lueva's life will be held at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-7:30 p.m. followed by an Eastern Star memorial service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home with Larry Manley officiating.
