Jay Michael

Jay Michael Drzewiecki, age 63, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at The Toledo Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 9, 1951, in Toledo to Joseph and Mary (Groves) Drzewiecki. Retiring in 2009 after 26 years, Jay worked for the Jeep Corporation, as a supervisor in the paint department. He also worked as a mechanic for his father and uncle at Joe and Ben's Garage on Westwood Ave. Jay started Power Lifting in 1971 at Warrens Gym. Having competed in the 220 lbs class, he was inducted into the Power Lifting Hall of Fame in 1993. He was ranked third in the nation. Jay was an active member of the Shriners and of the Rubicon Lodge, of free and accepted masons. He enjoyed watching his children, Miccoy and Alliya, play college baseball and volleyball, respectively.

Jay is survived by his wife of 25 years, Karen Drzewiecki; children, Jamie (Jamie) Taylor, Danny Drzewiecki, Alliya Drzewiecki and Miccoy Drzewiecki; mother, Mary Drzewiecki; sister, Barb (Linden) Wieland; 5 grandchildren, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father.

Family and friends may visit Friday from 2-6 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The Funeral Service will follow at 6 p.m. Memorial donations may be given to St. Francis de Sales High School. Please share memories and condolences at
