Adamae Schooner, age 84, of Holland, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 27, 2014. She was born August 11, 1929 in Toledo to John and Mary Jane (Hogue) Richardson. Adamae was employed by the University of Toledo Medical Center (Formerly MCO), working in Patient Food for 12 years. She also worked at Sam's Club as a Food Demonstrator for 7 years. She was currently a member of Bethel Assembly of God in Perrysburg and was a former member of the Pentecostal Church of the First Born in Holland where she dedicated her life as a Youth Director, Sunday School Teacher, Play Director, Vacation Bible School Director and Song Leader. You could often times find Adamae out walking, cooking or baking. Although small in stature, she was an unforgettable force to be reckoned with, whose overwhelmingly kind spirit will live on, not only through her family, but with anyone who came to know her.
She is survived by her loving children, Harla Case, Michael Shiflett and Debra (Bill) Carter; grandchildren, John Case, Mike (Marie) Case, Michael (Tara) Shiflett, William Carter III, Joshua (Amy) Carter and Lexee Carter; great-grandchildren, Catilyn Case, Andrew Case and Emily Dominguez; sisters, Lurline Ruckman and Jacqueline (Paul) Davis; as well as her brothers, Robert Richardson and Ralph (Joan) Richardson. Adamae was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Jane; brothers, Albert, James, Thomas and John Richardson and her sister, Esther Richardson; as well as her former husband, Harley Shiflett.
Friends will be received on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 2-9 p.m. in Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879), where funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Springfield Township cemetery.
