John W.


John W. Schuller, age 85 of Toledo, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky.

John was born on February 28, 1929 in Jackson Township - Wood County to John and Mary Schuller. John enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma; brother, Charles Schuller; and son, Steve Schuller. He is survived by his daughter, Mary (Jim) VanAtta and their daughter, Renee (Jarrod) Tupps {their children, Braxton and Brooklyn} and their son, Jason (Kathie) VanAtta. John is also survived by son, Charles (Barb) Schuller and their children, Ashley Oswald and her son Jacob; Justin Ward and his children, Teron and Rileah; and Steven Schuller and his children, Caiden and Lilah. Also surviving is stepson, John (Janel) Joy and their children, Jennifer (Scott) Earl; Jessica (Matt) Wegener and their children.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, May 1 from 1 p.m. -7 p.m. at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home (1163 W. Sylvania Avenue) 419-269-1111. Burial with military honors will private per the wishes of the family. Memorials may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio.
