Alice Margaret Vance, 96, passed away peacefully April 28, 2014. She was born March 8, 1918 to Elmer and Luella Britt in Turner, Michigan.
Alice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She also enjoyed shopping, reading, listening to music and playing the piano "by ear." She and her husband, Fred, enjoyed many years of retirement in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where they enjoyed fishing, dancing, playing cards and occasionally visiting casinos. They traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by Fred, her husband of 72 years; son, Richard; sister, Catherine (and husband, Gerald Wyatt), and brothers Warren (and wife, Ella) and Howard Britt. Surviving Alice are her daughter, Janet (Wayne) Forster, granddaughter Terri (Mark) Flowers; great-grandson, Adam; sisters-in-law, Wilma Britt, Ara Dammer and her husband, Virgil; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. The family wishes to thank the 'entire staff at Bowling Green Care Center for the excellent care and commitment to service they provided to Alice while she was a resident.
