Our Beloved Donna Jean (Nix) Tilman-Burrell was born February 12, 1956. She departed this life June 2, 2014, and quietly went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, at her home, at the age of 58.

Donna graduated from Spencer Sharples High School, where she engaged herself in artwork and playing the trumpet. In her early years, Donna attended UTMC.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Braden United Methodist Church. She later became a member of Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, Michigan, until she became ill. Later on in life, Donna became an active follower of the late Bishop Walter Hawkins and the Love Center Choir. She often traveled out of town to sing with them. She sang with them when he did his last recording at Indiana Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio.

Donna retired from Ford Motor Co., Stamping Plant, after 14 years, she worked various jobs throughout her lifetime.

Donna lived her life through her children, and she loved them unconditionally. She was a real sweetheart, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bessie Nix Sr.; brothers, David, Luther, Bobbie and James Nix Jr.; nephew, Richard Smith and great- nephew, Javon Dadzie,

Donna leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Johnnie Lee Tilman and Christopher Lamont Tilman; grandson, Johntay Tilman; stepsons, James Burrell III and Chris Murphy; sisters, Valerie Eiland of Compton, CA, Sharon Dadzie and Teresa (Alvin) Smith, both of Toledo, OH, Marsha (Anthony) Waddy of Missouri City, TX and Marian Nix of Missouri City, TX; brothers, Bobby Nix of Toledo, OH and Donald Nix of Swanton

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014, from 4-6 p.m., at the House of Day Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014, at 12 noon, preceded by an 11 a.m. Wake, at the House of Day Funeral Home, Woodlawn Cemetery.
