Margaret L. (Pierce) 1928 - 2014



Margaret Kapela, 85, of Sylvania, Ohio passed away into God's hands Wednesday, June 11, 2014. One of six children born to Bradford and Viola Pierce in Perry County, Ohio. Margaret was a graduate of Waite High School class of 1946. For 40 years she worked as an executive secretary of the Jones and Henry Engineers. She was a very loyal and dedicated employee, and she made many friendships while working there. She retired in 1993, to spend more time with her family.

Margaret was a devoted wife to Bernard "Ben" for 40 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and loved having her family over for Sunday dinners. Margaret made many lifelong friendships and enjoyed spending time with her friends. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; her parents; brothers, Gene, Brad, James, and sister, Juanita.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Susan Frey of Port Clinton, OH, Michael (Margie) of Fort Meyers, FL, Jim (Gigi) of Waterville, OH and Dave (Eva) of Sylvania, OH; grandchildren, Nathan and Katie Frey, Steven and Kevin Kapela, Kara, Leah and Jenna Kapela; sister, Joann Dishong of Marietta, OH and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Richardson of Toledo.

The family would like to thank the nurses at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially Nichole and aides, Anna and Dee. Also a sincere thank you to Angela and Joann for their kindness and help in caring for Margaret.

Family and friends may visit the Reeb funeral Home, 5712 Main St., Sylvania, Ohio, Saturday, June 28, 2014, from 9-12 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 12 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
