Morris Kenneth Esmond, 92, passed away June 24, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital. A native of College Grove, TN, he moved to Toledo in 1929, and was the youngest of 14 brothers and sisters. He was a 1941 graduate of Libbey High School and attended South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC. Morris worked for Doehler Jarvis Company as an electrician, retiring after 30 years. He was the Manager of the first African-American team in the Toledo Industrial Semi Pro Baseball League and a member of the Amazon Lodge #4 since 1964.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 7 brothers, and 6 sisters. He leaves to cherished his memory, wife, Virginia; daughter, Brenda (Herbert) Stockard; grandson, Steven Stockard; special nieces, Dorothy Farmer of Largo, MD, Louise Crawford of Dayton, OH, and Lillie Anderson of Toledo, OH; special nephew, Herman Anderson of Toledo, OH; in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, 5-8 p.m. Wake services Tuesday 10 a.m., followed by funeral services 11 a.m., all at the Dale-Riggs Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Mark Hill officiant, interment Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Special thanks to Swanton Health Care of Swanton, OH and St. Luke's Hospital ICC of Maumee, OH.
