Clara Amanda Moll
Clara Amanda Moll Aumann, 103, died on Thursday, July 24, 2014, in Flower Hospital, Sylvania, Ohio. She was born on October 31, 1910, in Sebewaing, Michigan, the younger of two daughters born to Hannah (Rummel) and Ernst Moll. Clara was baptized into Christ's death and resurrection on November 20, 1910, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sebewaing. She attended Immanuel School and Sebewaing High School, and graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing (Bay City, MI) as a Registered Nurse in 1932.
Clara married Leonard Conrad Aumann of Detroit, Michigan, on October 23, 1932, and moved to Detroit where they raised three children and were active in Lutheran congregations and the movement to start and support Lutheran high schools. They retired to Sebewaing in 1973. Widowed in 1990, Clara moved to Sylvania, Ohio, in 1995, and to Lutheran Village Wolf Creek Assisted Living in 2003. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Toledo.
Clara treasured relationships with her family, neighbors, pastors, fellow church members, godchildren, cousins, the friends of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed studying the Bible, bowling, playing, cards, and following the Detroit Tigers and Pistons.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Leonard; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Arnold Reinhold; son and daughter-in-law, Conrad and Joycelyn Aumann; great-granddaughter, Leah Habrecht. Clara is survived by her son, the Reverend Roger Aumann (Patricia); daughter, Christine Habrecht (Richard); grandchildren, James Aumann (Dorothy), Lori Aumann, Michael Aumann (Sheri), Stephen Aumann (Heather), Julia Habrecht (Matthew Braun); Paul Habrecht (Heather). She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, Rebecca Schumacher (Jacob), Rachel Aumann, Elizabeth Aumann, Sarah Aumann, Brandon Aumann (Laura), Blaine Aumann, Chelsea Aumann, Jacob Aumann, Kathryn Aumann, Joel Habrecht, and Anna Habrecht.
Family and friends may visit at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main Street, Sylvania, Ohio, on Monday, July 28, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until funeral services begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 5845 Elmer Drive, Toledo, Ohio, with the Reverend Richard Habrecht officiating. Committal and interment will be at Northlawn Cemetery, Sebewaing, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Toledo, Ohio, or to the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Detroit.
