Emil J. "Bunny" Konesky

Emil J. "Bunny" Konesky, age 91, of Woodville, OH passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at his residence. He was born on December 29, 1925 in Stryker, OH to John and Anna (Studenka) Konesky. In 1950 he married Mary Jane (Okenka) Konesky in Toledo and she preceded him in death in September 1959. On January 25, 1974 he married Verna Wasserman in Oregon, OH and she survives. Emil's employments included: realtor for John Zachman Realty, Perrysburg, Secure Realty, Gibsonburg, Auctioneer for Emil Konesky Auction Service, life long farmer and a race horse owner. His memberships included: St. Michael's Catholic Church, Gibsonburg, past church councilman, Woodville Twp. Trustees, National Auctioneer Association, past President of the Ohio Auctioneer Association, United States Trotting Association (USTA) and Ohio and Ottawa County Horseman's Association. Emil was instrumental in the building of the new Woodville Fire Dept. and Westwood Cemetery.

Emil is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Verna; daughters, Tracy (Dennis) Mock of Huron, OH, Terry Arndt of Woodville, OH; stepdaughters, Shirley (Jim) Buhro of Graytown, OH, Peggy (Tom) Skees of Curtice, OH; grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric Lynd) Arndt, Ashley (Craig) Reidman, Brooke Arndt, Casey (Wes) Rethman, Brittany (Troy) Wittman, Betsy (Spencer) York, Bryan Buhro, Taylor (Lindsay) Skees, Zach Skees, Brianne (Matt) Perry, Ryan (Alissa) Mock and Emily Mock; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pauline Ramus of Ft. Wayne, IN and Charlene Meier of Cuyahoga Falls, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Mary Jane; son-in-law, Richard Arndt; brothers, Edward, John, Jim; and sisters, Bessie Brown, Helen Hickman, Mary Hranka and Dorothy Benedict.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, May 26, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Home, 201 West Main Street, Woodville, OH. A Funeral Mass will be conducted on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Gibsonburg, OH. Officiating will be Father Christopher Bazar. Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery, Woodville, OH. There will be a bereavement luncheon served at the church immediately following the cemetery committal services. Memorial contributions may be given to: St. Michael's Catholic Church or ProMedica Hospice, Clyde, OH.
