DRABEK John L. John L. Drabek, 64, of Holland, passed away on December 25, 2009, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born on January 21, 1945, to Frank and Gertrude (Kutz) Drabek in Toledo. John worked as a mechanic for Sylvania Township for over 17 years and prior to that worked for Donaldson Ford and Kistler Ford. John was a member of the Toledo Elks, Maumee Eagles and Sylvania Moose. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. He made an annual trip to the 'horseshoe' in Columbus for 40 years and he also made games at 9 of the 'Big 10' stadiums. John will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 37 1/2 years, Sandy (Szymanski); son, John 'Skip'; sisters, Martha Glesner and Dorothy Sieja; brothers, Charles and Tom (Joyce) Drabek; sister-in-law, Marlene Drabek; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; cousins and several extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roland and sisters, Virginia Topolewski and Geraldine Drabek. Family and friends may visit at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy., on Wednesday from 2-8 pm, with scripture services at 7:00 pm. followed by a B.P.O.E. service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009, at 9:30am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
