MATHENEY Bettie Sue (Hendrix) Bettie Sue Matheney, age 74, of Perrysburg, formerly of Walbridge, died peacefully Wednesday, November 10, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lawrenceburg, TN on August 22, 1936 to Leo and Margaret Sue (Clifton) Hendrix. She married Dean Matheney on April 11, 1959. Bettie was employed as a Paraprofessional for Toledo Public Schools in the Title One Reading Program, where her special love and interest for children and reading gave her the wonderful opportunity to share her love of books in helping others to read. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Perrysburg. Bettie had a "green" thumb and could always be found working in her flower beds at home. Bettie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Dean; sons, Steve (Kendra) of Walbridge and Tim Matheney of Princeton, NJ; grandchildren, Lauren, Erin and Evan Matheney, and sister, Myrna (David) Bryan. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Hendrix. Family and Friends will be received on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 2-9 p.m. in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St., Walbridge (419-666-3121) where services will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10:00am with Pastor Kerry Wood, officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
