BOYER Virginia Elizabeth (White) Aug. 3, 1921 - Nov. 29. 2010 Virginia Elizabeth Boyer passed away peacefully Monday, November 29, 2010, at the age of 89. Born to Helen (Thompson) and Howard White on August 3, 1921, in Vancouver B.C., Canada, six years later she moved with her family to Seattle, WA, where she grew up and worked as a beautician. There, following WW II, she married her husband of nearly 65 years, Charles L. Boyer, Jr., whom she'd met earlier during his deployment to Seattle with the U.S. Navy. After marriage, the young couple settled in Toledo, Ohio, where Virginia was welcomed as another daughter of the Jervis Street Boyer clan, and where they raised a happy family of five children. Making good use of her beautician training, Virginia often provided home permanents and nail care to numerous friends and their daughters from the neighborhood and beyond. She later worked with the Department of Family Services, where she was well loved by the many friends she made. Her retirement years were spent comfortably with her husband in Brandon, Florida, near her youngest son and his family, with whom many happy times were shared over the years. Virginia is survived by her loving husband, Charles; her devoted children, Charles (Irene) Boyer, David (Roberta) Boyer, Elizabeth (EJ) Leizerman and Donald (Danita) Boyer; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her father, Howard White; mother, Helen (Thompson) Rogers; brothers, Howard and John White; and her daughter, Barbara (Boyer) Sanzenbacher. Funeral Services will be held at Nativity Catholic Church, Brandon, FL on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. A Memorial Service, followed by interment, will be held at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum on Friday, December 10, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in her memory, to a charity of the donor's choice.
