Jean Haddad Obituary

Jean (McGuane) Haddad, formerly of Toledo, passed away peacefully at her Rossford home on August 23, 2005. She was born on May 27, 1921.
Jean was a devoted and loved wife of Eugene Haddad (deceased) and mother to Skip (deceased), Cindy Hopkins, Mindy Null, Holly, and Barb Haddad. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Wiesenberg and grandchildren, Erin, Meghan, Bridget, and Keely Haddad-Null, Alison, Laura, Jade, and Julie Hopkins; nieces and nephews, Kathy (Gray) Zanoni, Bill Wiesenberg, Pat (Cassis) Pearson, and Chuck Cassis. Her parents, Bertha and Michael McGuane, and her sister, Mary Gray, preceded her in death.
Proud of and grateful for her Irish heritage, Jean was a devout, lifelong member of Good Shepherd parish. She was a graduate of St. Ursula Academy (1929), St. Vincent's School of Nursing (1943), and a nurse in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Her nursing career included many years at Champion Spark Plug. Married for 47 years to Eugene, Jean was beloved by the Lebanese community of St. George Cathedral.
Accepting and understanding, Jean's life was a blessing to all who knew her. She welcomed all people from all walks of life. Warm, witty, and compassionate, Jean was an endless source of comfort and guidance. Her friendship and love will live on, strong and deep, in the hearts of her family and friends, who will dearly miss her humor, beauty, intelligence and delightful companionship.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27th at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 550 Clark St., Toledo, Ohio. Memorial contributions to Good Shepherd Church or donor's choice.

What a wonderful woman your mom was! She was always so patient and kind when we invaded your home for sleepovers. Those memories are some of my favorites. I'm sure you have many, many of your own joyful memories and they'll provide solace in your grief. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
