DUCAT Jean F. Jean F. Ducat, age 85, of Toledo, died May 9, 2011, at Ebeid Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 6, 1926, in Toledo to Mr. and Mrs. Reginald (Mildred Diehl) Miller. Jean was an accomplished graphic artist and also did free lance work in the art field for various Toledo furniture and clothing businesses. She enjoyed sharing her artistic talents to interior decorating for family and friends. Jean's musical talent was manifested in playing the piano, she was self taught and played by ear. She was a great supporter of the patriotism of America, American History, and enjoyed traveling to historic places. She and her husband, Gene, travelled over 42,000 miles with the Nomads Flying Club out of Detroit Metro Airport. They especially enjoyed, Bermuda, Florida and California. Jean had a compassion for animals, and was called by friends and family "the animal whisperer" for cats and horses. Her great humor, her ability to help others, and her kind heart endeared her to all who met her. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Miller and sister-in-law, Jacqueline Miller. She is survived by her husband, Eugene L. Ducat; daughter, Sandra Ducat Thomason; grandson, Eric Thomason and brother-in-law, Denzel (Margaret) Ducat. Friends will be received at Blanchard - Strabler Funeral Home (1163 W. Sylvania at Lockwood, 419-269-1111) on Wednesday, June 15, from 6 PM until the time of Memorial Services at 7 PM.
