DIXON Thomas E. Thomas E. Dixon, age 53, of Toledo, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011, in his South Toledo home, surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born to Thomas A. and Gladys (Jeakle) Dixon on March 3, 1958. He was a 1976 graduate of E.L. Bowsher High School and then went onto to serve his country proudly in the United States Navy. Upon his return he worked as a Computer Technician at Libbey Glass for several years and then became a Project Engineer in 1997 for Advance Control Solution Incorporated (ACSI). He was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church where he coached football and led the team to a Toy Bowl Championship victory. Tom was also a devoted lifelong Ohio State Football fan. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Thomas McCarthy and mother-in-law, Jane McCarthy. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Laura; children, Kerry and Tommy; parents, Tom and Gladys; siblings, Sue (Jim) Meadows, Patti (Mike Rahn) Hayden, Diane (Jim) McCarthy, Mary (Tom) Giannini and Jim (Cheryl) Dixon; in-laws, Tim (Josette), Ray (Jenny) and John McCarthy; as well as his canine friends, Bailey and Casey. Family and friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m., in the mortuary, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
