TOMANSKI Robert John Sr. Robert John Tomanski Sr., age 77, of Toledo passed away at home, peacefully, December 11, 2011, surrounded by his family. Robert was born, December 27, 1933, to Walter and Helen (Wroblewski ) Tomanski. Bob married his High School Sweetheart, Eloise in 1953 in St. Hedwig Catholic Church after they graduated from Woodward High School. He worked hard all his life from 3rd grade on. In High School he worked at Kalinowski's Market and then after graduation he worked 3 years at Libbey Glass. Bob retired in 1993 after working 38 years for General Mills. Robert had many hobbies and pursued them with vigor. He was an avid philatelist from 10 years of age. He also collected toy trains and Bonsai plants. Bob and Eloise spent their winters in Florida, but always returned to his beloved Toledo for the rest of the year. He was a loving and indulgent "Poppy, Grandpa, and DziaDzia" and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving Bob are his loving wife of 58 years, Eloise; children, Robert (Maureen) Tomanski Jr., Ruth (John) Clark, Raymond (Marie) Tomanski, Susan (Andrei) Znamenski, Julia (Robert Eric) Worstell; his 8 grandchildren, Victoria (Robert) Holmes, Raymond Tomanski, Jr., Robert Clark, Andrei Leonid Znamenski, Blythe, Tristan, Hunter, and Bryce Worstell, and his 2 great-grandchildren, Robert Jordan and Haley Holmes. Also surviving are his brother, Leonard (Esther) Tomanski; his sister, Dorothy (John) Cisek, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Donald Tomanski, and sister-in-law Caroline Tomanski. Friends may call Thursday, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Urbanski Funeral Home 2907 Lagrange, (at Dexter St.) (419-244-4611). Funeral services will begin Friday December 16, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Hedwig Church Repair Fund.
