IORIO Shirley A. Shirley A. Iorio, age 77, of Wauseon, passed away Friday evening, December 30, 2011, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. She was born in Toledo, OH, to the late Irvin Kaintz and Alice (Domalski) Kaintz. Shirley was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and later married the late Jerry M. Iorio on October 1, 1952. Shirley was a devoted wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother who loved her Family and her Lord most of all. She was extremely proud of the accomplishments of children and grandchildren. Shirley was a talented homemaker with exquisite taste and a wonderful cook. Her specialties included preparing Polish and Italian foods for her many family gatherings. Someone who enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends earned her the title of "social butterfly." Once you met Shirley, you instantly fell in love with her. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her partner and the love of her life, Jerry Iorio in 2005; brother, Edward Kaintz; grandson, Nicolas Iorio; as well as many uncles and aunts. Surviving are her children, Timothy (Susan) Iorio of Westerville, OH, Margie (Rick) Prior of Wauseon and Dennis (Laura) Iorio of Granger, IN; grandchildren, Dr. Timothy (Tara) Iorio, Joseph Iorio, Anthony Iorio, Angela Prior and Michael Prior; and great- grandchildren, Tad Nicolas Iorio and Reese McCabe Iorio. Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta; with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Caspar Catholic Church, 1205 N. Shoop Ave., Wauseon, OH 43567. Fr. Dave Bruning will be officiating. Interment will be at Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, those wishing a show of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to the Nicolas Iorio Scholarship Fund at St. Francis DeSales High School, 2323 West Bancroft Street, Toledo OH 43607 or St. Caspar Catholic Church in Shirley's memory. Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com. Her children wish to say "Thank you, Mom, for your devotion to our Family. You are our Champion, our Hero and our Role Model! Our love for you will never end."
