MOOMEY Freda D. Freda D. Moomey, 79 years, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, while under the care of Heartland Hospice of Ann Arbor. Born July 12, 1932, in Wauseon, OH, she was the daughter of Glenn and Ida (Mohr) Darling. A Wauseon High School Graduate, she married George Moomey, April 10, 1956, in Angola, IN. A dedicated mother and homemaker, she was a member of St. Paul's ELCA Lutheran Church, and its Altar Guild. Freda kept in touch with the world watching CNN, and loved sports. Survivors include: her husband, George; son, Thomas (Jan) Vollmar; daughters, Deborah (Dennis) Ditty, Christine (Hugh) Gorham, Lorraine Farris, Carolyn (Ben) Laderach, Cheryl (Arthur) Vandenberg, Mary (Steven) Guimond; eighteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan Hattery; three brothers, Norman, Jack, and Warren, and five sisters, Gertrude, Katherine, Donella, Louella, and Glennadine. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Saturday, from 2-8 p.m. She will lie in state at St. Paul's ELCA Lutheran Church, Temperance, Sunday, from 11 a.m. until services at 12 p.m. Pastor Jim Puhl will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg. Memorial contributions for Mrs. Moomey, may be made to: Heartland hospice of Ann Arbor, or St. Paul's ELCA Lutheran Church.
