HARRIS Eddie R. Eddie R. Harris was born on September 22, 1932, in McKenzie, Tennessee to the late Mattie D. and Alther B. Harris, on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, he left this world for greater glory. In 1950 Eddie moved to Toledo Ohio. After graduating from McKenzie High School, he soon after joined the United States Army, and served our country in the Korean War as a corporal. He worked many years for Unicast, Hostess Bakery, and Roadway Express were at one time he served as a teamsters rep. Eddie married three times and was preceded in death by Geraldine and Catherine, and is survived by Jeanette Harris; who helped care for him up until his passing. Eddie's children, grandchildren, and family were his pride and joy and kept him lively and rejuvenated, as he always shared his zest for life. He was preceded in death by son, Edward Vandell Harris; brothers, Hubert Pete Harris, Claude Harris, and James William Harris, and sisters, Mattie Haymes, and Anne Scruggs. Eddie leaves to his honor his daughters, Armentha Harris (Stan) Jones, Vetty, Ciarra Pringle, Alexis, Alenna, and Adreunna Brown; sons, Walter Harris, Lamont Gray (Deanna), Chris Gray (Tameka), and Dominque Brown; sister, Florence (Woodrow) Jones of Santa Fe New Mexico; brother, Joe (Rose) Harris of Jacksonville Florida; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous loving nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Wake, Visitation for family and friends was held at the House of Day Funeral Chapel Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be at Grace Presbyterian Church Rev. Ruby Rasford presiding.
